Our Academic Language Therapists are specialists trained to work with students with dyslexia or other language based disabilities. They have completed extensive training in multi-sensory, systematic reading, writing, and spelling instruction.

Kindergarten readiness

Our experienced early childhood and elementary school teachers know what it takes to walk into the first day of school feeling prepared and confident. We help children (and their parents!) know what to expect and how to get ready for the challenges of a new school. We also help families transitioning from a Montessori, play-based, or homeschool setting to successfully bridge to a more traditional school model.

Summer Slide Prevention

Children benefit from reading, writing and doing math over the summer. Students with learning difference particularly need structure, guidance and encouragement to work on academic over extended breaks. Our teachers and coaches help parents develop routines and systems that keep their children engaged. Waiting until August to start summer reading lists is not recommended! We help families organize their time os everyone can fully enjoy the vacation.

Content Area Instruction

We have teachers available to coach students in the following subject areas:

Kindergarten-5th grade: Basic written expression (includes handwriting, spelling and composition), Basic Reading (includes phonics, fluency and comprehension), Basic math (includes math calculation and reasoning), Keyboarding/Typing

Middle School - High School: Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, Spanish, Latin

Organization and Executive functioning skills

Summer can be the perfect time to help children become better students. We do this by explicity teaching them strategies to improve their organizational skills and break long, often overwhelming tasks into smaller manageable chunks. We provide time management and goal setting tools, while offering mentorship and encouragement. Self-advocacy and self-regulation skills are interwoven into our academic coaching services and are critical to lasting independence and success.
